Its insane detailing and approachability make it one of the best investments that beginners and 3D printing enthusiasts alike could make.

But what exactly can the Photon Mono M5s do? Here we’ll look at all the best reasons to get excited about this new resin 3D printer.

Anycubic Photon Mono M5s

Insane Detailing

The 10.1’’ LCD screen is in 12k, meaning the resolution and detailing you can achieve in even the tiniest models is improved dramatically over lesser machines. This resolution is a first on the consumer level, making it the highest resolution screen available and affordable for the average household.

Leveling-Free System

Another first that Anycubic boasts with the Photon Mono M5s is the leveling-free system, which automatically detects the necessary bed level and adjusts accordingly. Those of you who know how finicky manual leveling can be will be happy to hear about this feature, as it not only removes the need to adjust things yourself, but also decreases the risk of failed prints.

Print Faster Than Ever

The Anycubic Photon Mono M5s can handle both standard and high-speed resins, capable of reaching up to 105mm/s when using the latter. Achieving this kind of print speed will require some detail tweaking using the newly upgraded Anycubic Photon Workshop 3.1 to ensure the model is hollow, but that won’t detract from the exquisite detail.

Anycubic’s own high-speed resin is designed for not only faster printing speeds, but faster curing times too. This is excellent news for those of you who just can’t wait around for your prints, and especially good for small business owners who want a high turnover of products to sell online.

Device Detection

The Photon Mono M5s automatically detects and appraises any new device connected to it, ensuring that the software is compatible with the hardware before acting for smooth printing and seamless connectivity. Not only this, but it will adjust its hardware and settings accordingly if it can to make itself adaptable and work well with most smart devices.

If there are any problems that the machine can’t adapt to itself, you will get a notification regarding the nature of the issue on the Anycubic app, removing the guesswork and helping you fix any minor issues.

Automatic Resin Check

The Photon Mono M5s will check to make sure there is enough resin loaded into the vat before printing. If there isn’t enough resin to complete the model you’ve programmed for printing, the printer will notify you. This removes the potential heartbreak of seeing your project stop before it’s done, wasting both time and resin while you fetch more.

Failure Checks and Automatic Stopping

If the Photon Mono M5s detects any kind of fault or failure while printing, it will halt the process. This is not only much safer if the detected issue is a hardware one, but it will also save a lot of wasted resin by ensuring it doesn’t continue printing a doomed project.

Perfect for Beginners

The Intelligent Mode added to a recent update of the Photon Workshop adds to the resin detection system and automatically adjusts the level and print speeds depending on both the resin and the project for flawless printing achievable by beginners.

This is why Anycubic promises that you can print like a master, because the in-depth detection systems make it approachable for anyone, regardless of experience.

Price

The Anycubic Photon Mono M5s is available at a steal of a price, costing only $399 (or €399 for European consumers) if you order within 3 days of May 22nd 2023. Ordering early also enters you into a draw to win free STL files so you can get printing right away!

Anycubic Kobra 2 – 5x Print Speed at a Fraction of the Price https://www.3dsourced.com/news/anycubic-kobra-2-5x-print-speed-at-a-fraction-of-the-price/ https://www.3dsourced.com/news/anycubic-kobra-2-5x-print-speed-at-a-fraction-of-the-price/#respond Mon, 22 May 2023 09:51:00 +0000 https://www.3dsourced.com/?p=32891 Read more]]> As the technology evolves, 3D printing becomes an easier and faster process, and sometimes – in the words of a great professor – evolution leaps forward.

The Anycubic Kobra 2 is one of the fastest upcoming FDM printers capable of up to 5x the speed of the average machine. It’s an exciting and affordable printer that any hobbyist or professional will love if speed is the main draw.

But it’s not just the fast printing that’s got us excited about the Anycubic Kobra 2 FDM printer, so here we’ll look at what makes the Kobra 2 a great printer for anyone looking to begin, or expand, their 3D printing adventures.

Anycubic Kobra 2

Fast Printing

As we’ve discussed, the Anycubic Kobra 2 is capable of incredible print speeds. The default is a whopping 150mm/s with an unbelievable max speed of 250mm/s. Those of you accustomed to FDM printing and its standard speeds will know just how much faster this is, beating the average of 60-80mm/s of most machines.

Upgraded Extrusion System

The unbelievable speed of the Kobra 2 is thanks to many updated features, not the least of which is its new dual-gear direct drive extrusion system. This system tightly grips the filament to make sure it doesn’t move around while printing each layer, adding to both the reliability and quality of the print by making sure the layers align as they should.

This system also heats the filament much faster than most FDM printers, adding to the print speed by getting the filament ready for extrusion much faster.

Impressive Cooling Fan

Of course, heating the filament faster will make it come out more quickly and hotter than usual, but fear not, Anycubic has also upgraded the cooling fan to spin at 700rpm. This cools the filament quickly and efficiently to ensure layer precision even at hotter temperatures and faster print speeds.

Improved Hardware

The Kobra 2’s frame is built to handle faster speeds. Unlike many FDM printers, which will vibrate and shake more at higher speed settings, the Kobra 2 has expertly placed alignments for its various parts to make sure they don’t rub together or create any unnecessary and damaging friction.

The axis placements ensure that they will move quickly to keep up with the higher speeds, making sure the layers are precise and the printer stays sturdy and stoic even when pushed to its limits.

Failure Sensor

In the event of a power outage or other unexpected failure, the Kobra 2 will automatically pause the project and will be ready to resume it as soon as the power comes back. It also has a filament sensor that will automatically halt printing if the filament runs out, preventing failed projects and allowing you to continue at your leisure.

Beginner Friendly and Intuitive Usability

The many features of the Kobra 2 may seem daunting to those of you who are new to 3D printing, but fear not. As well as being fast and affordable, the Kobra 2 was designed to be easy to set up and use regardless of previous experience.

Partially Pre-Assembled Frame

The kit comes semi-assembled and needs no soldering or any particular mechanical know-how to get going. Anycubic estimates a mere 10 minute assembly time for even the newest of newbies.

Easy Touchscreen

The touchscreen interface is easy to access and navigate even during printing. Beginners to 3D printing will love how intuitive it is and even veterans will find its accessibility refreshing when compared to more complex machines.

Magnetic Build Plate

The build plate is magnetic and spring-set. This, when combined with the rapid cooling of the upgraded fan, makes models very easy to remove when complete, which stays true even with notoriously sticky or awkward filaments.

Price

The Anycubic Kobra 2 will be available on May 20th 2023 at the fantastically affordable price of $269 (or €299 on June 1st for European customers). You can choose from a number of retailers including Amazon, eBay, Walmart, or Anycubic’s own official store.

Why You Should Check It Out

3D printing and laser engraving often go hand-in-hand

If you own a 3D printer and have found yourself hankering for a way to personalize your prints further, or are simply looking to branch out with your projects for fun or profit, owning a laser cutter is an excellent way to expand your creative horizons.

Here are some of the top reasons why the Elegoo Phecda is a fantastic choice for anyone looking to broaden their horizons and open the door to new possibilities for awesome projects:

Affordable Price

Elegoo’s main aim as a company is to make 3D printing and laser machining approachable and affordable to just about any household. The Phecda laser engraver and cutter goes for only $239.99 for the 10W laser, and $399.99 for the 20W.

This makes it one of the cheapest dual cutting and engraving machines on the market, especially when you consider its considerable size, power, and range of cuttable and engravable materials.

Not only is this base price incredibly low, but there are also no additional fees to take into account either. The listed price on the Elegoo marketplace includes both tax and shipping, meaning you won’t have to dedicate any extra funds to anything other than the materials you’ll be able to get engraving and cutting from the moment your new machine arrives.

Ease-Of-Use

Another of Elegoo’s goals is to make sure their machines are approachable and easy to learn for anyone, regardless of experience, while also offering powerful and capable machines sure to entice those already in the know.

The Elegoo Phecda is very easy to use, with a wi-fi enabled interface compatible with the most common operating systems, as well as its built-in software, make designing, uploading, and engraving a simple task that anyone can learn and master without much trouble.

Whether you’re designing your cut shapes or engraving patterns from scratch, or using pre-existing images and symbols, you’ll find the process hassle-free and easy to grasp. This makes the Elegoo Phecda ideal for both newbies and experienced users alike, and an excellent choice for those of you who need a high-quality laser engraver without needing a qualification to run it.

Added Safety Features

If you’re experienced with 3D printing and/or laser engraving, you’ll know just how dangerous the emissions can be. Air quality is a worry for anyone using these machines, and can be particularly concerning if your workspace is particularly small or poorly ventilated.

Fortunately, the Elegoo Phecda includes an additional safety feature that we hope will soon become the norm in both laser cutting and 3D printing, an emission filter.

This filter ensures that the particles from the machine’s emissions don’t make it into the air, meaning you can breathe safely and comfortably while the Phecda gets to work. This makes your workspace a lot safer for you, your family, and your pets.
While ventilation is still important, you can quite literally breathe easier knowing that the Phecda is safe to be around even when in use.

Not only is this better for the air quality, it’s also better for the environment, as it stops harmful emissions from getting into the atmosphere and further polluting the air we all breathe and eventually damaging the ozone layer.

So not only is the Phecda a safer option, it’s a more environmentally friendly one too.

For more information about the PHECDA laser engraving machine, and to support the campaign from April 8th, you can view it here.

Creality Launches CR-M4 3D Printer For Large-scale Production https://www.3dsourced.com/news/creality-launches-cr-m4-3d-printer-for-large-scale-production/ Fri, 03 Feb 2023 12:12:10 +0000 https://the3dsourced.wpengine.com/?p=25367 Read more]]> Creality has released their new Creality CR-M4 FDM 3D printer on February 3rd, priced from $1099.

Featuring a huge 450 x 450 x 470mm build volume, dual Y-axis linear rails, and a handy way of printing, CR-M4 is a great product for 3D printing farm owners and individual prosumers to print large-scale models in one run.

Vast build volume with professional-grade stability

It’s a real workhorse for creating big models with little-to-no post-processing, or batch-printing parts in one go. It’s time for users to max out creativity and let thoughts run wild.

Many users worry about the quality of large models. When printing a large model, printing failure may occur because of wobbling. CR-M4 can solve this effectively. With dual Z-axis and two support rods, CR-M4 forms a rigid triangle to stabilize the top frame. The dual Z-axis curbs gantry sagging and Z-wobbling, and each Z-axis is driven by a standalone motor for neat movement. All of these will ensure the quality of tall models from bottom to top.

Precise and reliable dual Y-axis linear rails

In addition to the rigid triangle frame, CR-M4 is also equipped with dual Y-axis linear rails to ensure the quality of models.

The dual Y-axis linear rails are made from high-quality bearing steel and manufactured by CNC technology, thus significantly improving the accuracy of Y-axis motion and ability to withstand wears, backlashes, and heavy load. It’s driven by a powerful high-precision stepper motor, providing more precise and smooth motion. Test result from Creality Lab shows that the stepper motor can print constantly and steadily for 720 hours (30 days).

Steady 3D printing with the dual y-axis rails and z-axis triangles on the Creality CR-M4

Start a print farm with multi-printer control

To provide a better printing experience, CR-M4 is able to print via USB drive, USB-C cable, RJ45 cable, and WiFi. With a LAN connection, users can print from any PC on the LAN by using Creality Print. Through access to the Internet, users can print and monitor remotely from the Creality Cloud APP or Web.

When multiple CR-M4 printers are connected to the Internet, it is easy to start a 3D print farm for mass production. The printers produce the same model on a single command from Creality Print or Creality Cloud Web. Given that each CR-M4 can print 20 parts in one go, a farm of 25 printers will crank out thousands of parts each week.

More options with 300°C high-temp printing

CR-M4’s high-temp printing is made possible by Creality’s self-developed all-metal “Sprite” direct extruder. The “Sprite” features dual gears with a 1:3.5 gear ratio, delivering a powerful and uniform 80N extrusion force and is particularly capable when printing with flexible filaments like TPU.

With an upgraded nozzle and 50W heater cartridge, the high-flow hotend can fully melt high-temp filaments at 300°C for fluent feeding. Users can swap the standard 0.4mm nozzle with a 0.6mm or 0.8mm nozzle for their needs.

The superb all-rounder printhead gives users the liberty to print with PLA, PA (nylon), heat-resistant ABS, PLA-Wood, PLA-CF, flexible TPU, and PETG. When it starts to print, a standalone 4020 fan channels strong wind to cool the freshly printed section, letting the model solidify faster with less drooping or warping.

High-performance build platform with 25-point auto-leveling

CR-M4 has fully automatic leveling with CR Touch by probing 25 points, and Z offset at 0.05mm accuracy to quickly calibrate the distance between the nozzle and the build surface, enabling users to easily print high-quality first layer.

CR-M4 features a 4-layered build platform. The PC coating provides strong adhesion. The bendable spring steel sheet makes it easy to remove large models and will not deform after long-term use. The magnetic base and two pins allow quick snap-on. The test result from Creality Lab shows that the 470x470mm aluminum alloy heatbed will heat up to 60°C within 160 seconds.

Safe, steady, and efficient

CR-M4 is equipped with an 800W industrial control power supply to ensure safe and steady printing. The power supply is adaptive to 100V-240V worldwide, delivering next-level efficiency with little thermal runaway. It can filter voltage fluctuations and electromagnetic interference, and prevent the printer from short-circuit, overload, overvoltage and overheat.

User-friendly features

A 4.3-inch color screen for CR-M4 features simple and responsive touch control, supporting model preview and temperature PID tuning. It will time out after five minutes of no further activity. Even better, users can enable the energy-saving Sleep Mode.

With a silent mainboard, the noise from CR-M4 within 1m distance is controlled at 50 decibels, equivalent to the sound of indoor talking. To avoid wire entanglement, CR-M4 has a cable chain for filaments. And there are dual spool holders for users to prepare filaments easier.

Traditional prototyping and design verification faces a long development cycle, high cost, limited material choice, and material waste due to molding failure.

To address market needs, Creality has partnered with Forward AM, the 3D printing arm of BASF, to bring cost-effective 3D printing solutions to professional users and small enterprises.

Sermoon D3 - Smarter 3D Printer

For example, within machinery design, the traditional method takes at least 20 working days to design, review, proof, and modify.

However, with 3D printing technology, users can achieve rapid prototyping in less than 10 working days, shortening the R&D cycle and improving efficiency.

Sermoon D3 Sturdy Frame

Industrial-grade stability

Sermoon D3 features industrial-grade stability tested and certified by Forward AM’s Additive Manufacturing Technical Centre (AMTC) and Creality Lab.

With a sturdy steel bottom plate, an 8mm aerospace aluminum top plate and four vertical aerospace aluminum profiles, Sermoon D3 can achieve 720 hours (30 days) of non-stop printing and 8,000 hours of failure-free printing – according to the testing data from Creality Lab.

High-temp printing

To ensure compatibility with a wide range of high-performance filaments, Sermoon D3 is equipped with an upgraded sprite dual-gear direct extruder with a copper and titanium alloy heat break. The two 5015 large cooling fans help avoid charring and allow the print to solidify faster. This enhanced design enables consistent extrusion at temperatures of up to 300°C.

Anycubic Celebrates 7th Anniversary with Revolutionary 3D Printer Launch https://www.3dsourced.com/news/anycubic-celebrates-7th-anniversary-with-revolutionary-3d-printer-launch/ Sat, 03 Sep 2022 05:22:00 +0000 https://the3dsourced.wpengine.com/?p=19689 Read more]]> 3D printer manufacturer Anycubic celebrated its 7th anniversary on September 2, 2022, with a new online product launch of both new resin and FDM printers.

“Anycubic keeps innovating and putting the latest patented technologies into new products. We introduced Anycubic’s first desktop DLP technology-backed product, the Photon Ultra, the M3 series equipped with our innovative LighTurbo light source technology, and the Kobra series adopted the LeviQ automatic leveling technology. All of these demonstrate our solid tech strength, and there is even more to come after our 7th anniversary.”

James Ouyang, Vice President of Anycubic.

Along with this celebration, Anycubic announced several new printers, new ABS-like resin, and a range of new technological innovations to be implemented within their new 3D printers:

Anycubic Photon D2

Anycubic Photon D2

The second-gen DLP printer Photon D2 is an upgrade on the previous Photon Ultra. It features:

 • Dual Algorithms for Superior Precision

The latest light uniformity compensation algorithm enhances light uniformity to 92%. This means the same amount of light is projected across every location of your print, creating a more consistent print result. Additionally, the 16-step gray anti-aliasing algorithm ensures sharp, neat, and smooth surface finishes on your 3D printed miniatures.

 • Hassle-Free Screen Maintenance

DLP 3D printers use a different light solution than LCD printers, and one of the main disadvantages of LCD printers is the screens frequently need replacing. DLP printers don’t have these issues, and the Photon D2 uses a projector with a 20,000 hour lifespan rather than an LCD screen that requires consumables.

 • Larger Dimensions for Creation

Compared to the Photon Ultra, Photon D2’s printing size and printing area increases to 130mm x 73mm x 165mm and 95cm2, 162% and 55%, respectively.

 • Quiet and Low Power Consumption

DLP technology offers features such as low heat generation, low noise, and low power consumption. The heat generated during operation can be kept within 45 degrees without external fan accessories or upgrades.

The Photon D2 is also very quiet, operating at just 35 decibels. It also only consumes 15 watts of power, 25% of the power consumption of standard LCD 3D printers, making it low-carbon and energy-efficient.

Anycubic Kobra Go

Anycubic Kobra Go

Leveling has always been a major challenge for new FDM printer users. To welcome and entice more users to the 3D printing world, Anycubic continues to use the technology in the Kobra series and, especially, incorporates the Anycubic LeviQ auto-leveling system into the entry-level Kobra Go at a great price point.

 • Fun Building, Fun Printing

Kobra Go adopts a DIY modular assembly. The DIY assembly helps beginners understand how an FDM printer works.

 • Smart Anycubic LeviQ

Kobra Go is equipped with the self-developed Anycubic LeviQ automatic leveling system. The Anycubic LeviQ system simplifies the leveling process, for an effortless calibrating experience even for beginners. The entire leveling procedure takes only six minutes, sparing beginners from this challenging manual leveling.

 • PEI-coated Metal Sheet

The widely-welcomed PEI-coated metal sheet also goes with Kobra Go. The quality metal sheet is hard-wearing, shock-proof, and can withstand bending. With the magnetic printing bed, the sheet sits firmly, and when finished, users can easily take off the models by slightly bending the sheet.

 • Speed

Even as an entry-level product, Kobra Go makes no sacrifice with its printing speed. The typical printing speed is 60mm/s and can reach up to 100mm/s. The machine adopts the separate self-developed separated extruder, which further accelerates printing.

 • Small Makes Big

Kobra Go’s printing volume and size are 12.1 liters and 220 x 220 x 250mm, respectively, meeting various printing needs.

Anycubic LighTurbo2.0 Improves Accuracy

Light source technology has always been the bottleneck preventing LCD 3D printers from achieving better precision. Anycubic’s next generation LighTurbo2.0 light source tech adopts COB lens + curved reflectors, which turns large angle light into small angle light. It then converts light into nearly collimated light through a curved reflector, which solves the problem of stray light interference caused by the lens and guarantees high precision printing.

Anycubic Collaborates with JBD to Explore MicroLED Application in 3D Printers

Anycubic and JBD jointly developed Anycubic’s first consumer-grade MicroLED 3D printer. The application of MicroLED in 3D printers opens up the possibility of printing miniature and microfluidic models with astonishing precision and lower costs and serves as a perfect demonstration of Anycubic’s endeavors in seeking 3D printing advancements.

Anycubic ABS-Like Resin Pro Provides Outstanding Performance to Professional Fields

Anycubic ABS-Like Resin Pro features high strength, toughness, precision, and anti-shock capabilities. According to T°Red’s team’s information, Additive is for T°RED BIKES’ way to do things more dedicatedly and customize every detail for each cyclist and athlete.

Currently, T°Red’s laboratories mainly use consumer desktop FDM 3D printers such as the Anycubic Chiron and other brands’ 3D printers, and these printers have an excellent yield for the models they make.

To meet the team’s requirement of extending the use of rapid prototyping to commonly standard parts, the T°Red team moved to Anycubic Kobra Max. This machine let the team try up to 5-6 prototypes in one print run, to find the best custom solution for each passionate athlete.

Romolo Stanco, one of the most innovative and “technological” designers and scientists in Europe and also the designer of the T°Red bike team, said:

“What fascinates me about this 3D-printed bike is that it has been the way to see, test, and try many different solutions. For some parts that need a larger printer to be printed, the Kobra Max has been the perfect choice to quickly create the particulars in our labs. After development and test in our laboratory and in the wind tunnel, we could print out the final parts in metal additive manufacturing (Scalmalloy® or Titanium). For us, it is essential to use rapid tools, the automatic printed calibration system. for example, it allows you to be immediately operational and have precision in executing even substantial pieces.”

Romolo Stanco, T°Red bike team designer

The use of the Kobra Max 3D printer in the Falcon project demonstrated that 3D printers are changing the cycling Industry through different types such as components, gear, and saddles.

With the help of 3D printers, users could unleash their creativity and designs, thus breeding innovation in the cycling field. In addition, 3D printers could also help users do sustainable projects and customize exclusive products in the production process.
